"I had lunch at Rice Boat at Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, and it turned out to be one of those meals you quietly savour long after it’s over. The restaurant has such a beautiful old-world charm. It feels calm and elegant, without trying too hard, and the setting immediately puts you in the mood to slow down and enjoy the experience. The food is where Rice Boat truly shines. The seafood was exceptionally fresh,handled with care and cooked just right. I especially enjoyed the fish and prawn preparations; perfectly done, full of flavour, and paired with these gorgeous coconut-based gravies that felt rich yet comforting, not heavy. The balance of spices was spot on and never overpowering. One dessert I absolutely have to mention is the homemade coconut gelato, honestly outstanding. A perfect ending to the meal. Service, as expected at a Taj property, was impeccable,warm and attentive. Everything flowed seamlessly, making the evening feel relaxed and unhurried. If you enjoy seafood and appreciate classic flavours done really well, Rice Boat is a place you shouldn’t miss. It’s elegant, soulful, and deeply satisfying,the kind of dining experience that stays with you."

"came here for lunch, ordered taste of kerala (seafood for me & vegetarian for my husband). we both became a fan! it was incredible. it was quite uneasy to get a table, but thank to Mr Ahilan for assisting us with such an exceptional treatment. the foods are all amazing, but my oh my... the crab soup was homey. if you're coming to India for the first time, or to Kochi, for that matter, have this Taste of Kerala in here! it's such a perfect way to show you how Indian food taste like. for the alcoholic beverages, we both loved Ko... Cochin & Matt An Cherry. both were very refreshing, perfect for having it with the foods :) tip: please make sure to have a reservation before coming, and it's recommended to come in weekdays."

"Our family dinner at Rice Boat at the Taj Hotel in Kochi, Kerala was an exceptional experience. We were a group of ten relatives with very different tastes, yet the evening flowed effortlessly and was thoroughly enjoyable for everyone. The quality of the fish was outstanding and the variety of flavors truly made our palates tingle. Every dish reflected the richness of authentic Keralan cuisine. The standout dishes for us were the kal appam, the classic Kerala fish curry, the flavorful chicken roast, the perfectly cooked squid rings, and the tiger prawns which were simply yum. The service was impeccable and deserves special mention. Ahilan took wonderful care of us throughout the evening, explaining the menu in detail and helping us choose a thoughtful combination of set menu and à la carte dishes to suit different preferences. His recommendations allowed us to experience the full spectrum of Keralan cuisine. Ahilan also kindly took many family photos for us and surprised my uncle with a complimentary birthday cake, which was a very generous and memorable gesture. Overall, Rice Boat delivered an unforgettable dining experience with exceptional food, warm hospitality, and attentive service. A perfect choice for a family celebration and one we will fondly remember."
