"I found their drinks more delightful than the food here especially pattacharayam it's a non alcoholic drink and a must must try if you come here. For starters we got the beef dry fry which was unbelievably melt in the mouth soft inside and crispy outside but lacked the beefiness in taste. Neymeen fish biriyani was good enough but I felt the fish nirvana (we ordered kalanji) is a bit over hyped. Appam and nool porotta were perfect. Food is a pricy and even tough it took a while to get the food on table the service was excellent and staff is very well behaved."
"A premium experience that is worth the cost.
Excellent food and wonderful ambiance!
There were two of us and we ordered the Veg Meals and the Seafood Platter. Take my advice: skip the meals and go straight for the Seafood Platter. It was an absolute explosion of flavor and completely stole the show.
Service was polite and the restaurant was very clean. Just a heads-up that they are a cashless restaurant and will ask for your mobile number for table allocation."

"We visited Meen by Chef Pillai and tried both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
• Vegetarian Meals (₹100) – Excellent value and very tasty. The meal includes sambar, rasam, thoran, aviyal, chammanthi, thairu mulak, achar, pappadam, and a small portion of payasam. All items were fresh, flavorful, and refills were provided, which was highly appreciated.
• Chicken Dumpling Biriyani – The rice was well cooked, but overall the biriyani was below average in taste. The dates pickle served alongside was a standout.
• Chicken Varuthathu – Portion size was reasonable, though the taste was fairly average.
• Chemmen Manga Curry – Flavorful and well-prepared, but the portion size did not justify the price.
• Mutton Peralan – A good dish with rich gravy, especially enjoyable with bread items.
Ambience – Cozy and pleasant.
Service – Friendly and attentive.
Overall, the vegetarian meal is excellent and highly recommended. Non-vegetarian dishes have good flavors, but portion sizes could be improved to better match the pricing."
"Meen by Chef Pillai at Forum Mall, Kochi, is a lovely spot for seafood lovers. It is conveniently located Z The restaurant is quite spacious and now also serves alcohol, which adds to the overall dining experience.
We tried their signature Prawns Nirvana, which was good at first bite — rich and flavorful — but after a few bites, the sweetness started to feel a bit overpowering, almost dessert-like. That said, everything else we ordered was excellent, including the vegetarian dishes, which were surprisingly impressive for a seafood-focused restaurant.
Overall, it’s a great place to explore coastal flavours in a refined setup — definitely worth a visit if you enjoy South Indian seafood with a twist."
"Visited Meen by Chef Pillai at Forum Mall and tried Fish Nirvana (Avoli), Nool Porotta, and Kallappam.
• Fish Nirvana (Avoli) –
A good one-time try. The gravy is the true highlight, rich in flavor with a signature Chef Pillai twist. The fish was cooked well, and the taste was satisfying, but it’s mainly the gravy that stands out more than the fish itself.
• Nool Porotta –
Soft and nicely layered. Good texture and taste, served in medium-sized portions. Goes well with the Fish Nirvana gravy.
• Kallappam –
Taste-wise it was nice, soft and slightly fluffy. However, the portion size is small, could have been a bit bigger considering the price and restaurant standards.

✅ Overall Impression
• Ambience and presentation meet expectations.
• Food taste — flavorful, especially the gravies.
• Portion sizes — could be better, especially for Kallappam.
• Worth visiting once for the experience, especially if you’re a fan of Kerala-style gravies.
Would recommend trying Fish Nirvana mainly for its gravy and pairing it with Nool Porotta for the best experience."
