"This is my fourth visit to Dhe Puttu and have previously ordered from there a few times. It was lunch time around 2 pm. It was almost full but we got a seat immediately as we were only 2 and there was a table with jsut 2 seats.
The food is generally good here. They welcome you will black tea and keep on refilling it and also you get almost unlimited pappadoms..
This time we ordered Amar Akbar Anthony combo and chattichoru. Amar Akbar Anthony is a combo of puttu with chicken curry, chammanthipodi, double omlette and mini falooda. It had the same taste as we had before and was good. Chattichor was really good. It had rice, picke, injupuli, chammanthipodi, chammanthi, thoram, chicken fry, kozhuva fry and beef ularthu type with morukari.. All in all it was really good.
There is enough parking but it is in a slump and so you have to let all elderly people before you go for parking. The area is not tiled and uneven. There are many steps as well which makes it a bit difficult for elderly. Service was pretty good. We have had biriyani and other puttu combos from here before and Dhe puttu never disappointed us. The interiors now feels a bit dated and may be a revamp would be good."
"Dhe Puttu is a unique culinary experience in Kochi – located in Edapally near Lulu Mall. The restaurant specializes with creative twists on veg & non-veg varieties of ‘puttu’ offering a range of traditional options to innovative, combinations of flavours.
The menu is extensive and exciting, with many dishes named after actor Dileep’s movies. It took us a while to decide, so we went with the staff recommendations — and they did not disappoint.
We were welcomed with complimentary Sulaimani tea, and they also serve unlimited papadums and kattan chaya, which is a lovely touch.
What we ordered:
• Ezhu Sundhara Rathrikal –Star of the day! A brilliant 7-layered puttu stuffed with prawns, chicken, beef and a mix of fruits/veggies. Soft texture, balanced flavours — truly exceptional.
• Elayiloonu (Traditional Sadhya) – Authentic and served with delicious Ada Pradhaman.
• Avoli Polichathu – Fresh, flavourful and better than versions we’ve had at many other famous restaurants.
• Amar Akbar Anthony Combo – A fun, hearty combo featuring puttu with chicken curry, omelette, chammanthi and mini Falooda. Very generous portions and absolutely filling.
The staff were friendly, patient and enthusiastic in explaining the dishes, which made the experience even better. Special callout to Akbar - the staff who was taking care of our table.
The ambience deserves full marks — warm, cozy and creatively designed, with artistic touches and nostalgic references to Dileep. Soft background music added to the charm.
Prices are on the higher side, but completely justified by the taste, quality and overall experience — definitely recommended!"

"I visited Dhe Puttu for the first time without any expectations, even though I had previously tried their puttu through online orders. I must say, dining at the restaurant was a whole different experience. They greet you with unlimited black tea, and the staff happily refills it whenever you ask this adds such a lovely touch and enhances the overall dining experience.
The menu was creatively designed, with dish names inspired by Dileep's movies, which brought a fun vibe. As for the food—wow! The puttu was incredibly soft and packed with flavor you could even enjoy the plain version on its own. The chicken curry was delicious and rich in taste, making the meal thoroughly satisfying.
What truly surprised me was the bill—it came to under ₹800 for three people. Given the brand, I was expecting it to cross ₹1000. All in all, both our hearts and stomachs were full. Great food, reasonable prices, and good service.’s definitely worth a visit"
"Puttu is a dish we can enjoy at any time, and while visiting Ernakulam, we sometimes choose Dhe Puttu. They provide consistently good-quality food with a pleasant ambiance. The rates are a bit high, but if you’re looking for quality food, it’s acceptable."
