"I visited Kaippunnyam Kerala Restaurant with my friends., we ordered fish chatti chor with extra mor curries, appam with chicken stew, and egg appam. While the flavours overall were comforting, the egg appam wasn’t crispy... somehow the batter didn’t seem up to the mark.
I also tried their homemade coconut pudding. Taste-wise it was good, but presentation-wise it would have felt more premium if it were set in a glass or ceramic bowl instead of a plastic box.
On the plus side, the pricing is very reasonable. All the dishes together came to around ₹1,400, with generous portions of both fish and chicken. It honestly makes you wonder how they manage such pricing in the heart of the city where rents are so high. The restaurant is neat and clean, and the staff are warm and friendly.
That said, I also had kappa with fish curry, and the curry felt very chilli-forward, lacking depth or balance in flavours. Overall, it’s still a good spot for Kerala-style food and worth visiting, though a little more consistency in flavours would make the experience even better.
Please note there’s no clear signboard, so first-time visitors might find it a bit tricky to locate. It's on the second floor above kanti sweets."
"I visited Kaippunnyam Kerala Restaurant again today after about 6 months, and the place has been nicely renewed. I had a chicken meal and a fish fry, both were tasty and worth the price. The rate is affordable, the restaurant is neat and clean, and the staff are very friendly.
One thing to note is that there is no clear signboard, so new customers may find it difficult to locate the restaurant. Earlier, when I visited 6 months ago, I tried their biriyani, and that was also really good. Overall, a great spot for Kerala-style food and definitely worth visiting."

"Tried the fish curry meals along with beef ularthiyathu, and the experience was disappointing. The quality of the food does not match the price we paid. The ambiance felt dirty, the curries were bland, and nothing tasted good. The rasam was basically lime and spices mixed in cold water. The fish curry had a very small piece of fish, and it didn’t taste fresh. I honestly don’t understand how this restaurant has a rating above 4 stars. If you want to spend your money on subpar food and a poor dining experience, you can try this place — otherwise, it’s not worth it."

"If you are a malayali in Bangalore looking for affordable and tasty kerala food , look no further, kaippunyam is the right place . They have a good variety of food choices with affordable pricing. Even they have kerala snack options on the menu . So the next time you are in brigade road do visit kaippunyam, it's located on the second floor of the building"
"I had lunch at Kaipunyam Restaurant and ordered the beef meals. All the side dishes, including beef, avial, sambar, moru curry, and other items, were tasty and well-prepared. I also ordered squid roast separately, but it was not up to the mark. The squid had a rubbery texture, which means it was overcooked.
Overall, this is a good place for Malayalees and anyone who loves Kerala food. The ambiance feels just like a nadan (traditional) Kerala hotel, but surprisingly, it is located on Brigade Road in Bangalore! The rates are also affordable, making it a great option for good Kerala meal in the city."
