"Recently we visited a Café Padmanabham for dinner and it was an overall a good experience.
This place offers two options for dining, one is cafe dining where you have to self-service for your orders and the other one is an AC Dining hall.
There are slight price difference according to where you're seated.
It truly serves an authentic south indian taste. We ordered Ghee podi masala dosa and Mysore masala dosa, and both the dishes are super tasty. A coconut chutney is a bit off, but other than that there's nothing to complain about it.
Overall a time well spent in that Café. Good food, good mood.
Cheers."
"Café Padmanabhan, Ahmedabad – ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
Recently visited Café Padmanabhan and had a good experience overall.
✅ Cleanliness & Ambience:
The restaurant is extremely clean and well-maintained. A big plus is their neat and hygienic washrooms, which you don’t find often.
✅ Service:
Service is prompt and courteous. Staff is attentive and the food was served quickly, even during peak hours.
✅ Food:
We tried the Mysore Masala Dosa, Podi Masala Dosa, and the South Indian Thali. The taste is average overall – decent but not exceptional.
However, the red and white chutneys are excellent, full of authentic South Indian flavor.
The sambar, unfortunately, didn’t live up to expectations and could use more depth and authenticity in its taste.
The pineapple sheera was a surprise hit – warm, flavorful, and very satisfying.
Also tried their filter coffee, which was aromatic and well-prepared – definitely recommended!
✅ Other Highlights:
The café is open 24 hours, which makes it a great spot for late-night or early morning cravings.
🔧 Suggestions:
The only major improvement needed is the authenticity of the sambar. Enhancing its flavor profile would take the overall experience to the next level.
---
Final Verdict:
A clean and reliable 24-hour South Indian café with great service, tasty chutneys, and standout filter coffee. Worth a visit, especially for breakfast or a light meal."

"Ordered Mysore Masala Dosa expecting authentic South Indian taste, but this was a complete letdown. There was absolutely nothing authentic about it. The flavor was bland and generic, nowhere close to a real Mysore dosa. If the shop name promises South Indian food, this is honestly misleading.
The ambience is equally disappointing — very ordinary and definitely not worth the price being charged. Overall, the quality does not match the hype or the cost in any way.
Total waste of money. Strongly not recommended."

"On a crowded Sunday night, we decided to try Padmanabham for dinner, and it turned out to be a great choice. Although it wasn't overly crowded, the place was busy, and we happily shared a table in the open seating area since the air-conditioned section was full.
The menu is concise, focusing on popular South Indian and street food items that cater well to local tastes.
We ordered Pav Bhaji, Rava Masala Dosa, and Mix Uttapam. The Pav Bhaji was nice and spicy, just the way we like it. The Rava Masala Dosa was perfectly crisp, with a flavorful masala filling, and the Uttapam was also good with nothing to complain about.
What really impressed us was the efficiency of the kitchen. Through the open setup, we could see the staff working tirelessly, holding their own and managing a flurry of orders without losing their cool. Despite the rush, our food arrived in about 20 minutes, which was fantastic. Kudos to their entire team for the great service!
The prices are quite reasonable for the quality and quick service you get. Padmanabham is a reliable and good spot for a quick, no-frills meal."
